Rural Water Infrastructure & Rainwater Harvesting

Supporting rural and peri-urban communities with sustainable water infrastructure including rainwater harvesting systems, water storage, and borehole rehabilitation to build resilience against water scarcity and climate variability.

About This Project

Our Rural Water Infrastructure & Rainwater Harvesting project addresses water scarcity in rural and peri-urban areas by installing community-scale rainwater harvesting systems, rehabilitating boreholes, and building water storage capacity. We work with communities to design, construct, and maintain water infrastructure that is climate-resilient and locally managed. The project incorporates training on water storage, purification, and conservation techniques, ensuring communities can sustain water access even during dry seasons.

Objectives
  • Install rainwater harvesting systems in 4 counties
  • Rehabilitate and maintain 10+ boreholes
  • Build water storage capacity for 800+ households
  • Train communities in water conservation and management
Key Achievements
  • Installed 3 community rainwater harvesting systems
  • Assessed 2 boreholes for rehabilitation
  • Provided water storage solutions to 80+ households
  • Trained 15+ community water managers
