Community Water Kiosk Network
Establishing and managing community-run water kiosks in informal settlements to provide affordable, clean drinking water to underserved households, reducing water-borne diseases and the burden of water collection on women and children.
Our Community Water Kiosk Network builds on the success of the Kangemi Water Kiosk Project to expand affordable clean water access across Nairobi's informal settlements. Each kiosk is community-managed, ensuring local ownership, employment, and sustainability. We train community members in kiosk management, water quality testing, and basic maintenance. The project directly benefits households that previously relied on expensive or unsafe water sources, reducing disease burden and freeing up time—especially for women and children—for education and economic activities.
